The Ecostove Non Combustible Great Beam combines the authentic appearance and character of a traditional oak fireplace beam with the advanced fire-resistant properties of a cast beam. With its substantial 140mm wide by 190mm high profile, the Great Beam creates a strong architectural feature above a wood burning or multi-fuel stove, while its realistic timber detailing provides a warm and traditional finish.

Part of the Ecostove Character range, the Great Beam is moulded from natural timber to reproduce the distinctive features of a genuine oak beam. Knots, grain variations, splits and other natural looking details give each beam its own individual character, while the hand-painted finish helps create an authentic timber appearance.

Unlike a conventional timber fireplace beam, the Great Beam is manufactured from a high-density mineral composite material. It is non-combustible and will not ignite when exposed to heat and flames, allowing Ecostove beams to be installed closer to a stove than combustible timber alternatives, subject to the manufacturer’s required clearances and the installation requirements of the appliance.

The Great Beam is available in a choice of Pale Oak, Mid Oak, Dark Oak, Weathered Oak and Honey Oak, making it suitable for a wide range of traditional and contemporary fireplace designs. Ecostove beams are hand-painted using water-based paints, with the natural variations in the casting helping to give every beam an individual appearance.

Easy-Fix Installation System

The Easy-Fix bracket system is included as standard, providing a secure and practical way to install the beam. The substantial bracket is supplied with plugs and screws and is designed to simplify the installation of heavier beams. Once installed, the beam is secured from underneath using an Allen key, while the system also allows the beam to be removed more easily for redecoration when required.

Non-Combustible Character for Stove Installations

The Non Combustible Great Beam is an excellent choice where the traditional appearance of a substantial oak beam is required alongside the practical benefits of a non-combustible construction. Its generous proportions, realistic character detailing and choice of natural oak finishes make it particularly effective above inglenook fireplaces, stove chambers and feature fireplace installations.

Focus recommends minimum clearances of 250mm above a 5kW stove and 350mm above a 7kW stove for its non-combustible beams and surrounds. The appliance manufacturer’s installation instructions and any applicable installation requirements should also be followed.

With the  Easy-Fix system included as standard, the Great Beam provides an attractive, realistic and practical alternative to a combustible timber fireplace beam.
